30th April 2025 – Mark this date! The gates of Char Dham Yatra will open, welcoming pilgrims and travelers from across the country.
But before you set out on this spiritual journey, registration is mandatory. The good news? You can register through both offline and online methods. However, registering online is far more convenient, safer, and quicker.
You have two main options for online registration (Process is same):
In this simple guide, I’ll walk you through the step-by-step process to register on the official portal. Whether it’s your first time or you’re a returning pilgrim, this guide will ensure your Char Dham Yatra 2025 is smooth and hassle-free. Let’s get started!

Is it Mandatory?
Absolutely! The government says it’s a must. But here’s a little secret — they don’t always check it. Yup, during my trips to Kedarnath and Badrinath, no one asked for my registration. But hey, why risk it? It’s a simple process and having it is like keeping an umbrella in your bag — you may not need it, but it’s good to have.
Plus, it’s always better to be safe than scrambling at the last moment. Especially NOW. Because, they have asked the public to register them. And really, you’ll thank yourself later.
And for Uttarakhand locals? You lucky folks don’t have to bother with registration. But if you’re from any other state, just get it done already.
Which is better Online or Offline?
Online, hands down!
Why? Let me give your some reasons.
Convenience: You can register from your phone while binge-watching your favorite series.
Time-Saving: No standing in those painfully slow queues.
Efficient: One click and done. It’s like ordering pizza, but for your Yatra.
Thinking of Offline registration? Sure, it’s an option. But be prepared for lines that move slower than a glacier. Plus, you’ll need your documents handy, and your patience too. So, save yourself the trouble and go online. Easy peasy!
Where is Registration Applicable?
Once you’ve registered, you’re all set to explore all 4 Dhams as the registration process is same for all of them. Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri.
Oh, and don’t forget Hemkund Sahib! It’s another sacred site that's also included in this registration.
Kedarnath
Badrinath
Yamunotri
Gangotri
Hemkund Sahib
And don't worry, if you miss one, there won't be any punishment or something. Just visit the ones you want, even if you register for all the Char Dhams.
